Sian graduated from NUI Maynooth with a B.Sc in Genetics and Bioinformatics in 2011. Subsequently, she studied an M.Sc in Translational Oncology with Trinity College Dublin, where she developed an interest in epigenetics in inflammatory diseases. Sian has recently completed her research M.Sc which investigated the mechanism of action of Methotrexate on inflammatory mechanisms in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Currently, Sian is working with Professor Ursula Fearon and Dr Ronan Mullan as a laboratory manager in the Rheumatology Department in the Trinity Centre for Health Science, Tallaght Hospital.
