Orla is first year PhD student here in the Molecular Rheumatology research group. In 2021 she completed her undergraduate degree in Human Health and Disease from Trinity College Dublin. As part of her final year thesis, she undertook a three month research project with Prof. Fearon in which she focused in on examining the differential pathogenic mechanisms driving Rheumatoid arthritis and Psoriatic arthritis. Subsequently, she received funding from Prof. Fearon’s Start-up Research Funding to begin a PhD here in the Molecular Rheumatology Department. Her research focuses on examining differential fibroblast activity and metabolism in the joint of RA and PsA patients.
