Aisling completed her BSc in Biomedical Science at Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin St in 2015 and began her PhD with the Obesity Immunology Research group under the supervision of Prof. Donal O’Shea and Dr. Andrew Hogan at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Her research focused on the impact of obesity on Mucosal -Associated T (MAIT) cell metabolism and function and their role in the chronic inflammation associated with this disease. Since her PhD she has worked in the endocrinology lab of the Rotunda Hospital as a medical scientist and has recently joined the Molecular Rheumatology group as a post-doctoral research fellow where her work focuses on the effect of Jak/Stat inhibitors on Psoriatic arthritis.
