Nicole is currently a first year PhD student in the Molecular Rheumatology research
group. During her PhD, she will be identifying molecular pathways that distinguish
different forms of inflammatory arthritis with a particular focus on interactions
between immune and tissue resident invasive stromal cells. Before joining this lab,
Nicole completed her Bachelor’s in microbiology at the university of Galway in 2024.
She then went on to receive a Master’s in Immunotherapeutics at Trinity College
Dublin in 2025, throughout which completing a 6-month research placement at Sitryx
therapeutics in Oxford, United Kingdom. There her research focused on investigating
inhibitors targeting one-carbon metabolism in cancer cells.
