Niall Hardiman M.Sc

Niall Hardiman is a Research Assistant in the Molecular Rheumatology research group. Niall received his B.Sc. (Hon) in Biochemistry with a minor in Microbiology from the University of Galway, 2022. After his bachelors studies, he worked in Pfizer on mRNA vaccines. Following this, he completed his M.Sc. studies in Immunology in Trinity College Dublin, 2024. Under Professor Emily Day, Niall’s research focused on characterising the induction of mitochondrial stress marker ATF5 in macrophages, and the relationship of ATF5 with itaconate and regulation in inflammation. Niall joined the Molecular Rheumatology Team in 2024 and is now based between St. Vincent’s University Hospital and Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute.
