EWRR 2023 was hosted by Prof Ursula Fearon and Prof Douglas Veale. This workshop was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all those in attendance.



Congratulations to Dr Marzaioli who received the TCD-Med Research Seed Award 2023, for her work on her work on pathogenicity and immunogenicity of osteoclasts in Rheumatoid and Psoriatic Arthritis patients: identification of specific orchestrator of bone remodelling

The highlight of this year’s Irish Society for Rheumatology (ISR) Autumn Meeting was undoubtedly the awarding of the Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof Doug Veale, our mentor, our colleague and our friend! We couldn’t be happier or more proud!

American College of Rheumatology 2023
Great representation of the group in San Diego for the American College of Rheumatology congress!

Prof Fearon excellently presented the group work on differential stromal-immune cells interactions in the RA and PsA synovium.

British Society of Immunology 2023
The Marzaioli and Canavan group attended the British Society of Immunology annual meeting in Belfast

Prof Veale received the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award from RCSI for his contribution to education & research in medicine


The award recognises Professor Veale’s pioneering achievements in the field of rheumatology, commitment to clinical and research excellence, and dedication to patient care. He is the first recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Achievement Award, which forms part of the suite of Alumni Awards that have been celebrated annually since 2019.
